Anthropic relaunched Projects inside Claude Code on September 17, framing it as a way to run multiple agents under one roof with shared memory, goals, and a library of files and artifacts. Each project spins “threads” as parallel Claude Code cloud sessions on their own branches and repo copies; a coordinator keeps work organized, and overlapping edits resolve like ordinary PR merge conflicts. Threads can further split work with subagents, loops, and workflows.
Users can talk to a thread directly or steer everything from the main project chat. Threads run in the cloud at launch, with local tool and code support promised “very soon.” The beta opens first for select Claude Pro and Max subscribers, then expands to all Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users — and later into Cowork and regular Claude chats.
